This project was to create a sensory pad from a 3D printed mold using silicone. The sensory pad I created is meant to be reminiscent of bubble or craters. The sensory pad it meant to be used while working, so that the person has something to do with their hands, if need be. The bubbles are textured, and most have their own craters that have a "popping" effect for added sensory experience.
Below are my Ideation Sketches and overall Mood Board inspiration for the sensory pad. Below these are the Fusion models of the mold, and the sensory pad.
This is my in process work of mixing and pouring the silicone into the 3D printed mold. It took about about 13oz of mixed silicone, and I chose the color pink based off the colors I had in my mood board.
This is my final silicone Sensory Pad. It's about 5" across, and textured with bubbles, craters, and other designs on the "flat" surface for an extra sensory experience.
